Windows 8.1 – How to Activate the Delete File Confirmation Window [SOLVED]

In Windows 8.1 if you press the delete button on a file it will move it to the recycle bin without a pop up confirmation window. This feature was turned off in Windows 8 and to re-activate it please follow the steps below:

  1. First off, right-click Recycle Bin and select Properties. You can also access Recycle Bin Properties from within the Recycle Bin from Recycle Bin Manage tab.
  2. In Recycle Bin Properties dialog, enable Display delete confirmation dialog option and click OK to apply the change.
